Due to the negative feedback we have been receiving we aim to re-introduce the bounce test using a method of inspection that will prevent the damaging of plastic and thin gauge metal panels.

The use of an assistant will be required - if no assistant is readily available the vehicle presenter may carry out the assistant role.

The vehicle is to be placed on hard, level ground. The assistant will be required to sit initially in the drivers seat and then subsequently in the passenger seat. Upon instruction from the NT the assistant will bounce up and down in each seat in turn. The tester will determine the amount of residual bounciness once the assistant has ceased bouncing. The fail criteria will be as used in the past (ie the suspension return to rest within one and a half oscillations).
