Hi guys,
Just had a visit from the local VOSA and had a chat about going from a sole trader to a ltd company. Nothing is changing regarding employees or location. What confused me was regarding having to upgrade my equipment to the new connected one. Can anyone clarify if this is the case or is there any ' continuity' clause which will save me buying new equipment which I cannot afford right now?

No way around it as far as I know.

As it stands you as as sole trader are the "Authorised Examiner" The AE is the current trading entity, not one particular person within the organisation

To change to Limited would obviously require the formation of a "Limited Company" with you as a director or officer. Effectively the Ltd company would become the new owner therefore no continuity unfortunately.

If I was to agree with you, that would make us both wrong !

Thanks for the quick responses guys. Much appreciated. It looks like I will have to start shopping around for new equipment. Anyone recommend any specific brand to go with? I've been using the Snap on dga 2500 and vic 3000 kit for the last 8 years
