One of the joeys passed his driving test

I remember when I passed my test and got back to the garage, the foreman asked if I had passed, and when I said yes he chucked a set of keys at me and said there's a customer outside wants running home.
Great I thought.
Then went outside to find a brand new Triumph Stag that was in for its first service and a very "Army Major" type of bloke stood there.
That was a very nervous 20 mile round trip.
So that was the first car I drove after the test.

However, some people are long sighted and some are short sighted, and then there are people with vision that can see a pin in a tree but up close most things blare out. 
I remember back in the early 1990's when I went to Middleton VOSA training. I had a very shiny black good looking XR3i. because I was unsure about anything mot related in those days (still same now really)   I made sure that the car was absolutely prestage condition. I did a full mot inspection on it and was happy nothing could be faulted.

During the first day at Middleton the trainer was very arrogant and abusive with us young lads. He walked round the training room like bulling his way through. He got to me and told me that my brake discs on my XR3i were excessively corroded. He was very abusive in his approach and the way he talked to me was almost boarderline violence towards me. I felt very uncomfortable, nervous and he had me admitting to having excessively corroded brake discs on my car even though I knew they were in perfect order. When I admitted to them being excessively corrded, even though they were not, he then told me that he knew I knew the discs were excessively corroded. I later told a senior examiner of my experiences and he said they were aware of what was going on and in the procedures to remove them. Apartently they were ex soldiers and government said VOSA had to take them in at that time. 

i got handed a 7 tonner ford cargo with a motor on the back and another on the spec lift after passing my test.just drop em in northampton would you?........and yeah they lived in the backstreets and yeah i was crapping myself.not on the way there you understand but on the way back with the brakes on em that locked as soon as you touched em when no weight was on the wagon smell it?i was sitting in it!

I'd of thought the dampness might of made it go soggy at some point!
