Informing the DVSA of a business change

I'm looking to find out what would need to happen with regards to the DVSA if a Private Limited Company with two directors each with 50% shares became a company of just one director.

The remaining director would then have 100% of the shares in the company and would continue to be the AEDM as well as a tester, and the director signing over his shares is just a tester (not an AEDM).

The reason for one of the directors signing over his shares is that he received a 2-year ban from testing and has caused the AEDM to suffer a 28-day cessation from testing.

If the company continues trading under the same name and there is no change to the AEDM, do we just inform the DVSA of removal of a tester and a director? How is this likely to affect the VTS once the AEDM fills in the VT01 to get his licence back after his 28-day cessation?
