I was discussing the recent 4.1.4 changes about headlamp (and LED/HID) conversions and how having LEDs in a halogen unit is a fail and my colleague said he has no way of knowing if the bulb is an LED or not so there isn't much he can do about it.

I haven't done MOTs for years but just wanted to know what other testers thought about it.

normally with leds hes probably got a point,can be difficult to tell sometimes.most of what we fail however is hid conversions and if you cant spot a happy shopper made in taiwan voltage inverter hanging out the back of the bloody lamp......
