MOT Tester returning from Furlough

When you say he completed the assessment for this year do you mean he did it before of after he was put on furlough ? . He needs to complete the current assessment . He may be asked to provide his training records . He will have to be up-to-date with all the SNs . He will have to do a demo and answer lots of random questions .

Remember .. as always .. He needs to be aware that he is allowed to go check online guide and manual before answering any questions he ain't sure about . They would rather you did that than spend ten minutes babbling a load of hoss poo about what you think the answer should be . It shows that you know how to use the available resources . Just don't do it for every question .

Make sure all your paperwork is in order and readily available .. Things such as calibration certificates and QC check forms . They are usually asked for as a 'while we are here' check .

Make sure he is VERY familiar with the equipment on site . He needs to show that he knows how to use it . If he can't get the ramp to lower or get the jacking beam off the locks or the printer ain't turned on it can make a stressful situation a whole lot worse for the candidate . Stack the printer with paper  . Make sure all the test tools are available and back on the board . Make sure the equipment is turned on . A 5 min wait for the smoke meter to warm up or the RBT to run it's morning cycle ain't helpful midway through a demo test . 

Obvious things .. but so easily overlooked 

That's why I asked - it would make sense, there must be a lot of furloughed mechanics around.    I can't find anything on the site, have tried to phone for information but says there is a 2 hour wait to answer my call !!!!   Have emailed but goodness knows how long they will take to get back to me.
Looks like i'll have to hang on the line on Monday Morning - will post the results.

we plan to do that Monday. I'm assuming that if he needs to be reassessed then it won't allow him to test?
