I have an especial hatred for places like this. We recently bought a 56 plate 1.4 16v Clio as another loan car. Local car sales place had taken it in on P/Ex and it had full main dealer service history (which doesn't impress me that much but, well, service history is always good) except the timing belt which was stamped as having been done 3 years ago and was the only stamp in the book NOT from the dealer.
Yup, you guessed it. 200 miles we did in it and the belt broke! Oh, I've repaired at our expense ( I can't blame the people we bought it from, not their fault at all) but that belt had NEVER been changed!
I don't know if the previous owner was done or if he was in on the con but it made me very angry. OK, I've fixed it but supposing it was someone who had spent all the money they had on that car relying on the service history?

little bruv bought a clio a few years back,same thing,belt done.its a long story but hes the last guy I need to be breaking down for stuff like that,pulled it apart,yup belt falling to pieces,did pump/belt etc,i only trust sh1te like that if I wrote it in the service book!

used to do an old boys 1.6 8v astra f,kept telling him the belt needed doing/was overdue,it was 18 yrs old by the time it finally let go.just a shame he persisted in trying to bump start it down the half mile hill he lived on top of.......PING CLONK CLO0NK CLONK.....
