mot problems w vosa or what ever there called now

all diesels should have the oil temp taken prefered temp 80+ but some dont have dipsticks fan cutting in and temp gauge suffice if not possible, mot inspection sheet along with emission test sheet 3 months

I reiterate no rqmnt to keep check sheets,only if you've used them for emergency testing.most people keep em,after all its a possible line of defence in the event of future problems but it AINT a rqmnt and no,our ve visitor didn't appreciate being told that either.the only normal test paperwork you HAVE to keep for 3mnths is emissions prints and you don't have to give the punter a copy either,only if he asks for one.thats why all your emissions testers out there will only give you one copy unless prompted to print another.its a rqmnt on petrol tests tho,go figure.any and all c/t paperwork the same 3mnths including checklist.its all in the guide-READ IT!

One of my guys got pulled up on habitually not taking diesel temps. VE stated there will be no action taken unless mentioned previously(again) we keep VT29 for 3 months and can’t think of any reason this is a bad idea.

It isent wrong to keep vt29 check sheet .
DVSA Enforcement people are not daft
If I check 10,20,30 diesel emissions print outs and none of show oil temp ,then the tester is not doing the emission test properly, it’s obvious ,I would expect to see some without temp reading due to design/configuration then that’s ok , nothing a tester can do but revert to other instructions given in the manual.

If the DM probe is there and it can be put down the dipstick tube then it has to done properly,not doing so will get testers points that includes elements of the emissions pre -checks

we had a fella who kept deathing out the temp measurement/idle etc,he was working out 3mnths notice and clearly had stopped giving a fook,dvsa clocked the emissions prints with no temps etc(luckily mine were normal so we at least had some sorta case)said we will be keeping an eye on these and as a result they dig thru em every visit,they don't expect em all to have temp/idle readings but some shud,they show a close interest in the "passed due to low emissions"crap as well to the extent they were looking for test station addresses etc.had a fella I know shut down bout 15 yrs back on emissions,3 points per sheet,they dug back 3 mnths and found 500 points worth.they knew he had been doing bullsh1t tests/retests but couldn't catch him,they could however prove that 100 odd emissions sheets weren't there.points make prizes....
