Looks like the front section subframe arm is missing

Although it looks horendous it is only push fit on dowels to the subframe and bolted onto the front chassis leg to carry the radiators, pass and advice for me.

This is the same design on the front end of a Renault megane Convertible
Would your descion be the same as the modus ?

I spoke to my QC today about this framework and his view is different to mine, he says it should fail.
his reply was that it is a subframe attachment so now I have doubts on my earlier pass and advise call. Castrolrob could be right.

my view has been changed to Fail, If the front section of the framework is defective

The subframe has its own mounting and support brackets,the subframe carries the steering rack/suspension.

The section in front of the subframe I wouldn't consider it part of the subframe as it's not attached,again it has its own mounts/brackets which is more of a cross member and provides support for radiator and possibly the structure of the vehicle.
If you have worked on these doing arms and clutches you'll know what I mean.
