recently I had a petrol car which had a gallon of derv put in it by mistake,the trader that owned it decided to bung in 10 gallons of petrol & hope for the best in the test,it went thru' no problem,this got me thinking about just how much oil could be added to a petrol cars fuel before it would fail ,ie 2 strokes,and being as some 2 strokes don't smoke much when revved or are hot and use better synthetic oils now days,just how would they compare to an older diesel car ? any one done any research or tried a 2 stroke on their gas analyser ?

ah I've heard about putting 2s oil in diesels,guess its better on older models ? and oil with old chip oil,same I guess its better on old diesels & dont you have to add methanol etc to get it to burn right ? just asking as I know a bloke with lots of old chip oil

There are lots of articles on the subject, I use it myself in a smiley transit and it does pull better,less smoke and mechanically quieter

I run a freelander 2 and add 2 stroke every fill up since I got it 4 yrs ago. Approx 1/2 ltr per tank full of diesel.
Burns clean, no smoke, pulls really well and very quiet for a diesel.
Lots of info online about adding 2 stroke to common rail diesels
