Looking at Buying a MOT Staion and Garage - Need some advice

Im just looking for as much advice as possible with regards to buying an existing MOT station and what i would need to do to keep the company running. I will give you a little run down of whats happening so people can understand better what it is i need to do.

I am currently running a used car dealership with around 45 cars in stock, i currently lease a showroom.

The building that i lease is a shared building, i lease the frontage (showroom part) and the rear of the building is a MOT station and service centre with 5 ramps in total. They currently do MOTs for cars and motorcycles.

The opportunity has come up for myself and my business partner to buy the whole building, including the MOT business. Its something that i am seriously considering but want to clarify a few concerns i have before i agree to anything.

If i buy the whole building and business and just carry on as we are, I will continue to sell my cars and the Garage will continue to run as it does at the moment. It has a manager and 2 mechanics. The manager is the AE at the moment. The garage is a good little business that has been running for years and has a good reputation locally.

If i do the above and buy the business as a going concern will i need to do any AE Tests or other tests? The business name will stay the same its just the owners that will change. 

Also i read that sometimes if you buy a business then you may have to upgrade the current MOT equipment.

Any advice would be extremely helpful .
