Tyre has a cut showing ply cords

Going by the picture to me its pass and advise. However the tyre isn't in front of me. deep enough to reach ply/cords means just that. And if I can't see any means it hasn't

Regardless the tyre looks worn out anyway and needs to be changed soon either way

There is a cut or break in the fabric, through which the ply or cords are exposed. (Immediately visible)

Straight Fail.

Scenario 2.

There is a cut or break in the fabric. The cut or break is less than 25mm or 10% of the section (tread or sidewall) with no ply or cords visible.

Move on - Pass (& advise if you wish)

Scenario 3.

There is a cut or break in the fabric. The cut or break is greater than 25mm or 10% of the section. Further investigation required.

It is permissible to probe the cut or break.

If the cut or break is deep enough to reach the ply or cords then it becomes a fail.
