MOT testing service outage

The MOT testing service will be unavailable this evening (Wednesday 9 March 2016) between 8pm and midnight as we release the latest version for users. We'll be emailing all users about this later this afternoon.
The next planned MOT testing service outage is due to take place next week on Wednesday 23 March 2016 which we'll confirm and update you about in due course.

New MOT inspection sheets

From tomorrow (Thursday 10 March 2016), nominated testers (NTs) will be able to print off new MOT inspection sheets from within the MOT testing service from tomorrow (Thursday 10 March 2016). The new inspection sheets will contain the following basic test details:

tester name and VTS number
test date and tie
registration mark and VIN
vehicle make, model, cylinder capacity and date of first use
brake weight for class 3, 4, 5 and 7 vehicles only

They'll be given the option to print off the new sheets via an 'inspection sheet' link which will appear on screen after a NT has registered a vehicle for test within the MOT testing service.

It's getting closer to the system you all want. Keep the feedback coming in and the changes will hopefully follow.

I'm in two minds. It's is a good idea to have an inspection sheet available to print, but I've recently gone from a PC to a Tablet. Why print off an unnecessary document. It's bad enough printing a fail for headlight adjustments. It's a total waste of paper. Six A4 sheets of paper per test potentially for one PRS item..not exactly environmentally friendly. More info on the home page when test is logged on, that's essential.

Yea roady we do that, i think its always a good idea to have paper back-up if needed.

The paper I use has TWO sides .

I put the check-list in the emissions tester printer and it prints the result on the back of it . The other emissions sheet goes in the printer in the office and gets the pass/fail certificate on the back of it .

Problem solved .
