MOT Contingency fraud problem?

Its possible Lr79. Would only be legal until all CT testing has been uploaded and then they'd have no Comp 2 record of the test. They'll struggle to convince a test station that they issued the CT VT20 too..

Literally was just speaking to my boss about this 10 mins ago. Was telling him that post offices weren't accepting the CT certs because they were just daft bits of paper with a random code on them that anyone could get their hands on.

It would make a bit more sense if the contingency codes were only given to testing stations on the day via email, now they have it on the government website for anyone and about 10 lines down you can print out a blank contingency test.
It just seems that for someone that really wasn't caring about the law could print out a ticket, google a close garage vts number and details. Hand write a ticket and sell anything to someone with a mot.
I know that the ticket will in no way be legal but there would be nothing to stop someone going and taxing a car with it at a post office, assuming they'll accept it, then put the ticket away and assume its all okay for a year unless they get stopped or have an accident.

Maybe they should have kept the emergency test certificate book valid as no-one was able to get hold of them easily
