Items not tested, brake performance

At this present time , the vts device is set up so the tester has to put readings into the device which should be just zero, best not to make readings up, the DVSA would expect to see zero readings where the items not tested is used.

Personally I choose decel test and input 50% and 16% so as not to create two unjustifiable failures. One brakes not tested failure is enough without adding two more.

Either way you do it I don't see there being any issues in the case of an appeal.

Yes , by entering zero brake results will lead to other reasons for rejection regards total brake efforts which is not ideal ( DVSA words not mine) but its how it works at the moment and the issue will be addressed on comp 2 and the new reasons for rejection will be available for selection.
If its safe to do a parking brake test do that and enter your results as usual,if its safe to test the brakes on one of the axles,do that and enter your results as you would,in other words test as much as you can safely in the rollers ,a defective tyre may stop you testing one of the axles but won't stop you testing what you can in the rollers, if you know what I mean.

SN 5 2014 & IM 3.7A1 would seem to support the use of "item's not tested " unless I am not understanding something.

What were the brake issues/defects that lead to you not testing them ?

It wasn't the brake issues alone, although the brake fails if I remember where 3 of the flexies heavily deteriorated. I just made the decision that there was too many things that go wrong if I took it out, I.e illegal tyres and it was pouring down outside, springs not located correctly, wrong size tyre and wheel on front that would screw with the ABS.


On another note I've seen the car in the past few days still on the road, still with a different wheel on front, I've looked on dvla's tax check service that also tells you when the mot is due on a car. And it's been issued with a test certificate till March 2016.

Here I am worrying there going to appeal the mot and I might get in trouble for failing brake performance(service and handbrake) aswell as items not tested, and somebody's passed the car. Obviously I'm assuming here but if they've still got the wrong size wheel on the front of the car that nothing else has been fixed either.(and the wheel is a complete different size and style so stands out a mile away, 16" silver alloy to 17 or 18 black alloy)

That would have been my advice too.
