change minibus mot want to convert to recovery truck

hello, bought a minibus as it was the only way to get a low mileage mint vehicle on the cheap, done 40k miles

now plan to chop the back off and convert into a recovery truck

would need to get in mot'd again? as it has several months left so seems waste of money doin it again

advice would b much appreciated

conversion would b a pro job super light weight aluminium bed and be 3.5 ton weight in total, will weigh abt 1950 once done

rang them and vosa dont seem to know nothing as usual as they dont like giving advice only fines, rang dvla women said it will b fine send logbook and they#ll change to a van dont worry abt the mot

tryin 2 get advice frm vosa is like tryin to get blood from a non bloodless person; impossible

rang them twice and last "gent" suggest just drive until u get stopped!
