Chrome not connecting, any ideas why?

Had same problem this afternoon, working fine all morning and this afternoon completely refuses to connect in chrome browser, had to use firefox to complete this afternoons tests.
My solution was log into dvsa blog page and it told me the system is working ok, (WRONG)
It also has a link that I used to log in and it worked so I have replaced my old link with the new and still working ok with chrome.
Nothing to say they will not have broke it again by Tuesday when I start back work but worth a try.

No idea, but no problems all Friday morning then first Mot of the afternoon it all goes to sh*t.
Luckily I tried firefox and managed to get afternoon tests done.
Then decided to check status page and managed to find a work around.
Really wish they would leave the site well alone as everytime they do "improvements" they end up f*ck*ng it up and it cost us time to try and sort it out.
This ends up costing us money in wasted time.
You really cannot make this sh*t up.

Mine is working again David after finding mot sign in page on Microsoft edge, copy & paste onto the chrome web  page thingy & that's it, working again, but the point is it was working in the morning but just stopped after dinner for no good reason.
It's a lot of faffing about that it should just work 1st time all the time, you wouldn't put up with "will it work today" or not service from say, on line banking but for some reason it doesn't matter too much if it works or not to DVSA. 

Worth doing a new link every morning after you get a "TESTING SERVICE UNAVAILABLE TONIGHT " email. The website is about as reliable as a pensioners erection after they have been updating the site.

Yeah it's a browser issue that ivor, not a Comp 2 issue. Updates run continuously in Chrome and some affect certain websites mate

I use Chrome & it will only update if a highlighted update link (little green thing on right of browser bar) is pressed, not had problem here with log in except for smart card failure

No option to auto-update Chrome in settings on mine. Using desktop win 8.1
