tips for getting electric handbrake readings

Any particular make or model?

I get no locks on our class 7 rollers,mind you I don't get any readings either since they spent Tuesday night submerged!suits me down to the ground,no 7s till theyre fixed yippee!

I tested my own RangeRover sport on Tuesday & when I held the switch up it nearly threw me through the windscreen,,surely this cannot be good for the handbrake mechanism.

Gaz don't do that decel the footbrake if you want but the EPB must be RBT

i have had same problem with kia ceed when tested with both run together atl get about 30kg but if run separtly got 200kg found this on first test 2013 model

only problem with that gaz the testers manual say to rbt electric park brake and not use decelmeter

It may tell you how to test them on the RBT, it doesn't tell you that you must. There are so many different different test procedures for EPBs on different makes and models, the manual is not going to tell you they must all be tested one way.

Hi Paul,

Once again thanks very much for your detailed feedback, i can confirm this subject is something that Autodata as a company is currently researching. There is no plan as yet to produce this information but with more research it may happen one day in the future.

Dear Jami,
Following our conversation today regarding Testing EPB's would be nice to have as part of the Autodata On Line Diagnostic & Repair package, and as a stand-alone module.
There is a debate on an online forum mtaeta.info/ and any information you could possibly disclose would greatly help.
