ABS lamp on and taped over
Traction control lamp on but not covered
Presenter appealed against me failing the abs lamp and removing the tape and passing/advising on the traction control lamp
Appeal went in my favour on both counts,VE said that's what they do anyway
Not the only time either,it's me testing the car and using powers of a tester I will continue,never come across a issue of damaging a bit of tape ,easily removed to gain access spring to mind

Pass and advise is a myth as far as taping over testable warning lamps goes.

I'm my experience with taped up warning lamps it's quite easy to lean over at a different angle to see what light(s) have been covered up.

I thought we was discussing air bags not abs lamps

I"am just given an example of a real life scenario ,yes I understand the OP issue is with a SRS lamp,however the other issue is a sticker.
If there's a lamp on and a blatant attempt to disguise it with tape,I would want to know what's behind it,for all I know it could be an oil warning lamp or something other that could cause damage,if I can't fully see it,if the presenters there ask him to remove it ,if he doesn't then I don't test it,do you want to cause damage coz I know I don't ,I'd rather make life easier
Removing tape/sticker to hide parts of the instrument display is totally different to presenters applying a bit of tape to a lens as a repair .

Looks like you've changed your tune from your original post from saying 'I remove stickers' - To 'I ask the presenter to remove sticker or I refuse to test'. Glad you'v seen sense.
