We've been asked to pass on this message...

Just to let you know that MOT testing service users are currently unable to buy slots due to issues with the authorisation of payments so please pass on the following to any of your forum members who may be wondering what's happening.

This problem is a result of a Capita-wide problem affecting its managed payments service and we're working with them to investigate and solve this issue.

If you hear from anyone who is unable to test as a result of this issue please advise them to contact our MOT testing service desk on 0330 123 5654 (Mon to Fri, 8am to 8pm) where they'll need to ask for a contingency code to carry on testing.

At the moment, we're not sure as to whether this is a short-term problem or something larger as it's a Capita-based issue so we're waiting to hear from them as to what is causing it and how long they think it will last.

We'll provide you with further updates about this payment-related issue in due course and will communicate direct to MOT testing service users should it continue to affect payments beyond this afternoon.

my boss tried to buy slots,4 or 5 times he tried! rang unhelpful line, only to be told "send us a cheque in the post"! he wrote one out there and then and posted it. about 5 hrs later 100 slots appeared on system. a day later another 100 appeared from the cheque, which they said would be 10 working days. all this agro seems like a bit of a clusterf**k which should have been sorted as they kept updating and repairing the system, to fix these faults!!!!
it seems like we haven't had a holiday, the agro starts on first day back!
i need a break!

When buying slots with credit card there is an option to save the card detsils etc to save time on the next purchace and also enable others to purchase if card holder not available , however i have hit the save details button but where is it saved ?
The help desk dont know.
Any ideas anyone ?
