Full-time Class 4 MOT Tester / Technician Vacancy, Stafford

We are looking for a NVQ Level 3 qualified, or equivalent, Class 4 MOT tester/technician for our new ATL bay at our expanding garage business in central Stafford. The main priority of the job will be MOT testing; however in our quieter moments you will be required to undertake mechanical and diagnostic work.

The primary role is carrying out MOT's in full compliance with VOSA regulations. It is expected that the successful candidate will have an excellent working knowledge of many types of car and light commercial vehicles. You will be comfortable with all aspects of mechanical duties, including routine servicing, diagnosis of vehicle problems (including using diagnostic computers), repair work on engines, transmissions, suspension, fuel system, ignition, electrical and security components. You will also need good customer service skills and be able to advise clients, where necessary on MOT failures and any required repairs.

You must hold a valid VOSA SMART card and a full clean driving license. In addition you must have good team working skills and be able to work effectively under pressure.

Full time hours, with requirement to work Saturday mornings (44 hour working week).

Salary is Negotiable depending on Qualifications and Experience.
