Had this in today, tested a few of them before but none as clean as this. Looks like its had a restore a few years ago but It hasn't stopped me hating the things.

Very clean throughout,

A better built version on the front bumper. Private reg is is quite good (last letter intentionally missing)

Originally failed on silly things like a bulb and handbrake efficiency (just needed adjusted). Then passed with only one advisory. Not bad for a car registered in 1985.

Just wondered how old is the oldest car you've put a pass on?

Oldest car passed? 1926 Bentley LeMans special Speed Six, (Raced at LeMans in 1926-7-8-9.)Won in 1929! Still competing in historic endurance events today!

Oldest car assisted in Stanley Steamer about 1915, (the front boiler model known as the "flying teapot")

Won't see either of them again :-(

The Stanley was a long time ago, before I was testing. Went to a mate's garage for a test, and he was running late because his assistant was also the petrol pump attendant and it was budget day! I jumped in the Steamer to get it dome, and then assisted on mine.

The Bentley was accompanied by it's owner, and I was a bit worried about looking unprofessional snapping away with my phone

I've searched through my archive and I can't find my pics of the Bentley LeMans I used to do. I think it was a 1935 so not as old as some.

But I did fine this...

1915 Model T (sorry about the quality but it was my first digital camera - state of the art at the time!)

itroen taxi,circa 1934, first volume produced Diesel. tested one from Ricardo engineering every year till moved job, allways passed, Test lots of 2CVs,oldest is 1949, have a local 2CV company, some pass some fail

We used to do some vintage wedding cars, but its been a long time since we did them. I have a photo of one here with a date stamp on the photo of 4/8/1993

I just did some more searching around on the internet and found it

- It's still being used as a wedding car but is over the other side of the country now.

long story but when i first started testing an awful lot of old sh1te was a big part of it,examples include 1903 daimler horseless carriage,1913 roller,20s bentley etc etc.work experience actually MEANT something back then :-/all them stupid bits in the manual?i have had to use them ALL!!!as an example,a bell or gong acceptable as horn,no handbrake,dip/main deflecters,certified by london science museum as being pre 1905,the list goes on and on.thank fook i dont work there no more DOH!

Not the oldest but only one I have ever seen, Porche 914 2.0 boxer in today, registered 12/1973, HORRIBLE looking wedge thing, bit like Fiat X19, passed with a few minor PRS repairs
