I'm 6' and 16 stone and have a lotus specialist next door so do four or five a week sometimes. I tell you one thing they keep you supple !
Caterhams I cant even get in because the seats are too small.
GT 40's I can't shut the door.

A tip for the Elise's check the brake pipe in the front the runs under the radiator I've had a few where it's rotted and even had one burst under pressure.

Anyone remember when DVSA or VOSA as it was then said underbody panels had to be removed by presenter prior to test ?

They are so much easier with the roof off. That way you can simply step over the sill and side down in to the seat and vice versa. Ball ache with the hard top fitted. The brake pipes that run through the sills are becoming a real issue although mostly not visible for test.

I’ve had a VX220 for about 10 years, doesn’t get used anywhere near enough though since I have little time for track days in recent years.

they have lower sills like the exige i got in one once with a bad back customer had to take the roof off so i could get out and ive crawled of of one on my hands and knees before now the Evoras Are more salad doger friendly (rofl)

You can't see that on the ones with the bonnet screwed down I'm quite lucky the cars my local lad brings me he has been through them knows his stuff we get a lot off his new customers aswell asking who would you recommend to TEST this ? I've had people from Cheshire with a test you need to know where to Jack them up (rofl)

The one I could not exit in with any decorum, was a De Tomaso Pantera 1972, I had to crawl out on hands and knees, much to the delight of all bystanders. I manage GT 40's OK, but it does require standing on the seat.

Don't eat any bread 12 hours before test and have a good poo immediately prior to test. It may not make it easier to get in or out but you won't feel a fat b*stard because your belly is squashing your legs .

Only ever tested a couple of Elises . Years ago and years apart . Both times it took me longer to figure out how to jack them up without breaking anything than to carry out the rest of the test . Horride things . Airfix kit cars

That is why our local lotus specialist tell s his customers to come to us some have come from Cheshire just for a test then they go round to him and say hello to Brian I've worked out where to Jack them up safely without causing any damage you can't jack the back end using the jacking points it lifts the whole car up covers off different matter easy to test 20 minutes it's just getting in and out of them 😁😀😂
