According to the wording of the 2017/18 training material brakes pipes technically do not come under the rules of corrosion but are included in the corrosion assessment, the mind boggles with the ideas of DVSA.  

It was either a fiesta or fusion, can't remember. It had just passed a test elswhere only a few weeks prior to ending up on it's roof.

I have now seen 4 articles writen in the last few days in online papers about what is coming on the May Mot update and all of them are saying the car can not be driven from a testing station. One comment after one other articles said they where wrong in saying Dangerous and Major items where fails and he said only Dangerous items where a fail and Major items just have to be fixed soon.

According to DVSA the owners of vintage cars have a high standard of service applied and the MOT trade are causing unnecessary problems to their cars when tested, and that is why the MOT trade can't be trusted to test them, so DVSA advise their cars don't require mot tests. I used to have one customer who I advised that his car was in urgent need of repairs and servicing, he advised me the car had just been serviced, cost him £40 he said, I asked what had been done, he said the car had just been valeted! 

It would be interesting to know the failure rates of 37, 38 and 39 year old cars to see the trend that may show the test result rates improving towards this 40 year cut off point . Is there evidence ?
Also are they going to let vehicles that were on their last test MOT failures or barn finds and not had a vehicle inspection for more than a year and could have had a dodgy restoration return to the road unchecked at least once.

talking of constructive advice its a little odd that all(or at least most)of the posts on that corrosion blog are dated the same day they released it.ok so mine seems to have been deleted but im used to that,todays the 26th,surely there shud be some later posts on there by now?you don't suppose that criticism of telling us that we need to get under the motor to test it(!)and then telling us that we probably wouldn't have spotted it anyway combined with the don't drive a dangerous motor sh1te have been perhaps a little more universal than normal do you?ive really gotta have a long hard chat with this cynical streak of mine as always I hope to be proved wrong
