So failed a vw polo 2010, for traction light staying on indicating faulty,or is it

Or is it indicating its off!!! and i put a advisory on cant fully check switch as the traction light is staying on and cant check the function of the switch or is it?? 😂😂 confusing stuff!! Why oh why do they make something that is switchable a rfr its got silly.

Lamp staying on indicates a Fail vicar. Normal operation allows it to be turned on and off. Very common for the switch to fall over

Esp is traction control

ESP provides an extra layer of safety on top of ABS and TCS, but not all cars with ABS and Traction Control Systems have ESP. You gotta make sure the light on is electronic stability control (ESP)

Esp is traction control

TC and ESP work in different ways

But as a mot tester failing a light which either traction or esp is hard to tell which is which without use of the vehicle manaul so until proven otherwise is a fail, unless the light says traction control fault, but in my case the vw is a esp light.

Easiest way to determine operation is to activate the switch. Owners manual states if lamp on there's a fault. We're told to refer to the owners manual if in doubt before we P&A
