Here's another quick update latest on the MOT testing service and related issues which you might want to pass on to your forum members...

Service unavailable

The MOT testing service will be unavailable this evening (Wednesday 10 February 2016) between 8pm and midnight as we release the latest version of the service for users. We emailed all users this morning to make them aware of this.

The next planned outage is due to take place in a fortnight on Wednesday 24 February 2016 which we'll confirm and update you and the MOT trade about in due course.

MOT special notices

From tomorrow (Thursday 11 February 2016), all users will be able to find a link to all the current MOT special notices on the GOV.UK website by clicking the 'Manuals, guides and standards' link at the bottom of their MOT testing service screens.

GOV.UK and Matters of Testing

Some recent research we've carried out has revealed not all MOT testing service users are aware they can find further information and the latest updates about MOT-related matters online.

As a result, we're trying our best to raise the profile of our MOT testing service for test stations section on the GOV.UK website and our Matters of Testing blog.

Please pass on the above links to any MOT trade members you come across as they both contain lots of useful information which service users will hopefully find helpful in terms of using the MOT testing service and the MOT scheme in general.

For example, we've just re-published our new Changes to MOT training guidance on the GOV.UK website after receiving feedback from MOT trade members.
