Changes to MOT training

I had a Site Assessment on Tuesday, VE's know less than we do. Not many enjoy the job now either

Thanks for the email Baz, I fully support the views on here and agree with yourself that the original idea was to offer refresher training via Comp2, I also dont recall any of this been "Fully" discussed at council level, just pushed through as is becoming the case !

My views and comments on the matter are as follows:

Yes refresher training is essential and should be carried out by the company or agency that was awarded the contract to do so by the Department of transport ie: DVSA.

WHY are they, a government agency that should be accountable asking for private companies to do the training then they will check it is happening correctly against guidelines themselves issue ?

WHY NOT just use existing training staff to do the job correctly, yes they are shedding premises to do it in but (And i can speak with accuracy having tested the water locally) why cant they use local VTS premises that have facilities for training, saving travel costs and arrange for other testers in the area to be trained all at once on a regular basis ?

What help are we (AE's & NT's) getting towards the cost of the new training ??

How will this experience affect us as Voters ??

How will the current testing scheme be affected by the upcoming EURO referendum ?

Just a few questions that could do with answers !
