Also on vt40 it says can't use plate tester or decelerometer as system is disabled when vehicle is in motion so how is epb tested then??

warchild75 already said it was because it is a 4x4 he didn't want to use the RBT. Now although I haven't tested this model I have tested several passats which I believe have the same transmission, and a couple of Bentlys which are built on the same running gear as the passats. I'm sure it does tell you on the VT40 that it should be tested on the RBT.

I have reasons the vsi on these and it does seems to be self contradictory with the standard "do not use the rbt unless you know.......... etc" then a few lines later "the epb must not be tested using a plate or decelerometer........"

VT 40 Says "Only carry out a RBT if you are sure the vehicle is of a design and type than can be tested safely etc......or something like that anyway,

Viable question if your not familiar with the design type and a great answer by ivor to ensure @warchild now does know it can be tested safely etc etc.....

In answer to this statement android, "There must be a genuine reason why warchild75 advised that he can't use the rollers ivor".

The reason warchild75 asked was he was unsure if this Audi could be RBT'd, but now he does know it can be RBT'd......Result in mt eyes!

I've only ever seen one tester do a brake test on an A6, who knew his stuff. With one wheel turning, applying the EPB signals the diffs (which I understand are electronically controlled) that it's in MOT mode apparently, so can be roller tested followed by a decel test for service brake.

If I was to agree with you, that would make us both wrong !

And that is how I do them.
Turning the rear wheels in a rbt puts the epb into test mode, & it doesn't matter if one or both are turned

Nothing has to be disabled, the all wheel drive system does not function until the vehicle reaches a certain speed.
The VSI informs testers that the EPB has to be tested on the RBT.

Like Ivor , personally had no problems testing these models using the RBT and following the instructions from the VSI
