What's occuring in the back row?

Not too fimilliar with the galaxy's. I would say pass and advise if the seats fold down flat.

No mention of seats being folded down Gaz

Since the question gives no reason to believe they are any different to the other seats I am going to fail them.

If they fold down flat I would consider them occasional seats so would pass and advise. If not then it's a fail. Basically what David said.

I haven't got time to go to the flow chart but.....

Required belts are one on each front seat, and two belts on any other rear seats as long as one of those seats is not a "centre" seat.

If the belts are completely removed I would pass, with possibly a little ass-covering advisory

I deem theses seats in a Zafira to be Occasional Seats as it's quite obvious they're not in Everday Use



But are the folded flat for extra luggage space or to have luggage space....mmmmmmm.

No luggage space when seats are upright for sure.

Info says:

4. Occasional seats

Occasional seats that fold down when not in use are not required to be fitted with seat belts. Care must be taken in assessing whether seats are, by manufacture, intended for everyday use with the ability to be folded for extra luggage space or intended for occasional use. Seats for everyday use should not be considered as “occasional” seats.

Based on that and the vehicle itself they could be occasional.

But remember the Info in 6.2 Seats & Doors tells us:

Every effort should be made to lift folded seats to facilitate their inspection; however, this is not mandatory where it would be unreasonable, such as due to the presence of heavy, fragile or numerous passenger effects or other articles

So how do we test the seat belt operation???

Again the IM contradicts itself OR they are by definition Occasional.

If the centre row of seats were folded flat then extra luggage space has been gained so those will require a seatbelt inspection

Agreed Gaz, same goes for a Galaxy and other vehicles with similar set-ups.

The pic provided by nitros44 is occasional but not what the IM refers to in as much as, when folded it doesn't provide extra luggage space
