Hopefully simple and illuminating question

That's understood aylesburyjock, BUT I stand by my point about who provides the torch. if the NT is expected to use his own torch I think that should be mentioned in the MOI, and if that is the case it would be very difficult to fail speedo illumination.

However I believe David's speedos are always illuminated because I have it on good authority that the sun shines out of his ass. You could even say that means his speedo's are back-lit. As a person of considerable bulk I find speedos to be uncomforable and unsuitable so I do not claim to be an expert on the subject

Sorry Pete, I must have skipped straight past this post without seeing it. Good one, but sadly, no. There are still some arguing that DVSA must have meant this or that, and amazingly skipping over the fact that yes, they are correct, DVSA DID mean the speedo should illuminate by means of it's own lights. That is exactly what they meant but due to an ERROR it's not what they put. This is what my group at the refresher course was told and it makes perfect sense. What you are doing is interpreting the RfR as it should have been written because this would make sense. I understand this. There is no way it makes sense as it is written. All together now, one...two...three... IT WAS A MISTAKE. Please ignore my tears of frustration, because I thought I would share this little snippet with everyone and we'd all have a little chuckle and shake our heads indulgently at the incompetence of our masters. That error WAS mine. Ah well.
