So when I collect a customer's car for an MOT I have no idea what condition it it in. However once it has failed it's MOT I refuse to drive it back. It sometimes makes me feel as if the customer is being bullied into the repair work.

I would hope that a police officer would understand that I have no responsibility for the condition of the vehicle, and as long as it hasn't got obvious defects like a shredded tyre or smashed lights I expect to be allowed to drive it to work. If there are blatant defects I would expect the customer to pay for a recovery
