A mate in the insurance industry said they can Access mot information ,and look at advisories in the event of an accident ,ie tyres on legal limit, then a crash 2 or 3 months later on the same tyres and airbags etc.He did not know what the reduction was in payout was BUT he was quoting a premium was based on that particular car having airbags side airbags and abs AND WORKING. Remember most ecus can tell when these items went unsevicable and how many times the warning was illuminated.ABS systems can tell speed deceleration,yaw,pitch and pedal pressure and impact time.The air bag sensor in a range rover showed that it was doing 72 mph in a 30 zone in birmingham when it paralysed a little girl he said.
So he said if you feel you are being "conned" put it down on the advisory because everyone else will try and wriggle out of their responsibility and blame YOU because every policy he sells has legal protection, once the advice is on paper it can't be denied.
