Seeing loads of these

This area of the mot test is frustrating for me at our place, VOSA keeps relaxing the rules for figures on paper, which I can understand when there are no statistics with real evidence to show that it is a real road safety issue, although in the mot scheme people will say they are a fail because they are written in the manual, which is fair enough, but if they were not a test item and never had been, then nobody would be any the wiser about the issue.

Because they are a test item area and VOSA have relaxed the rules by allowing them to be removed prior to the test and passed and advised, at our place they are not taken seriously, so my AE says nothing to the presenters, or says they don't matter it is just me being picky, but the problem for me is the dammed keep advising them and sometimes seeing them back on at retest, and if I were to fail them the AE is down my ear.

I just can't see the point in having rules and standards when it is the people in authority that flout then. Like I have said before it is my name and my integrity that is blackened for doing the job to the book, the presenters and the boss don't give a sh1t at the end of the day. 

So its not just me then baz657 that does have this problem, it is more widespread and you and nitros44 are seeing the same thing, and if I remember rightly, correct me if I am wrong, but I am sure phaetonott said something about failing retests for this very same problem, so I think I can safely conclude that the problem is not just me and our VTS, but is widespread around the country at large.

As far as your report goes I can't see any problems with it in my opinion.

100% fail rate on full retests, that is one vehicle, and partial retests look high fail, but compared to 0.35% scheme average there is nothing to worry about in my opinion, and I think we know VOSA's answer to the national scheme full retest fail rate don't we council members
