Let's not loose site that the post is showing a pair of mole grips as a control to open the door from the inside .
There is no issue with the catch or piller which do have minors listed along side them ,

David this is all I said intially. Nothing you said after this did I say. 

I was not being argumentative or anything rocket when I mentioned the Minor items. I'd not looked at them only mentioned them after you posted. 

yes David your always correct as above. See my previous posts regarding the highlighted Minors for doors. Now I did not write the manual, nor the MTS software, but its clear to see to me that the person(s) who did lack the experience to understand that IF and they HAVE DONE, write into MTS Minors for doors, they should have worded it better by saying something along the lines of...

A drivers or passengers door(s) cannot be readily opened when required because the "Relevant" control is inoperative. 

When there is more than one control part to a door lock/release mechanism, how somebody could just mention a "Catch" which they think is a fit for all problems on a door, then they also need better training and understanding. 

If DVSA are using the "Catch" to refer to the door lock/release mechanism, then you need to go and retrain them David because absolutely beyond doubt if a door will not open from inside or outside, the door lock assembly "might" be the cause, but noway can the tester prove that at the time of test.

It really is simply, the door(s) will not open from inside or out from relevant control. End of.

We all know there is a Minor for the door catch preventing the door opening and closing.

However, this thread is regarding door condition i.e. the relevant control used to open the door from insidfe the vehicle not working and an alternative method being employed i.e. Mole grips.

Result = P&A because as you have been told by myself and others, there are no Minor options in that sub menu.

You looked online and assumed the minor covered the control which you now know it doesn't.
