in fairness to them they are at least trying which is vastly different to dropping a completely new system on us and saying get on with it,you don't remember comp 1+2 being introduced?now if they asked US for the layout THEN DRIVESHAFTS WOULDNT NEED CLICKING THRU 4 PAGES TO FIND,FADED INDICATORS WOULDNT BE AT THE BOTTOM OF A 20 ITEM LIST AFTER NAVIGATING ANOTHER 4 fookING SCREENS TO GET THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE!you get the picture,perhaps this time we can change all that,yeah I know,ive heard ducks fart as well but for some reason despite all their previous fook ups I remain optimistic until proved wrong

In the past the changes have just been dropped on us. This time we are being asked to trial the system and tell them where we think it is wrong and how we think they could improve it. This believe it or not is because they understand that the guys designing the system are not testers, and don't have the insights we need. They are seeking now to use us (the testers) to help them get it right this time. What else can they do. This is a serious question guys. We have still got people complaining. So what more are we hoping for? If it's just moaning and complaining because that's what we do and we kind of enjoy it then fine, But if you have any more ideas, let's get them here and see if we can help further.

I suppose the most used items could be made to move up to the top of the list but this may cause problems if things keep moving around. Personally i wouldn't be against something like a search box that gives suggestions as you type so if you type "ind" or "drive" then a drop down list appears which is narrowed down the more you type and you then choose an option which results in the consistancy dvsa want.

You asked us and we asked them to allow a wider audience to see their plans in advance so that we could all make suggestions - this is one of the methods they are using. There have been times in the past where they have asked for input knowing in advance in which direction they were going anyway so our "help" was just a paper exercise. There have been some personnel changes within DVSA which should ensure that any suggestions we make will now make a difference to the final product.
